This is why Android is great. faryaab over at XDA has brought CM7 to the Xperia X1. While carriers and Sony have practically lost all interest in this old phone, it says something that the community still supports it for those that still use it.

The phone was released in 2008 and through CM7 can be updated to Gingerbread. This just shows that for those of you worried about your phone being outdated after you purchase it you don’t need to worry: As long as XDA is here, you’re pretty much set.
